We had a Stake Relief Society Enrichment last week entitled "Dollars and Sense." They gave us two websites for coupons. couponmom.com and grocerygame.com
Just thought I would pass this info along. They taught from the church booklet, "One for the Money."

Two Different Shoes
A little girl in the store told her Mom, "That lady has two different shoes." I just laughed inside. Children are so honest. I had another x-ray on Tues. and it is healing well. I will wear the boot another week and then try to wear my shoes that match. Pain will be my guide as to how much I can do the doctor said. I'm not too sure that is a good gauge as I am not in any pain at this point. So I'm grateful it is healing and I have a high tolerance for pain.

Visit to Minnesota and Our Yard Projects
Grandma taking some time to hold Daniel.
When we went to the grocery store they had baker hats to wear while the kids decorated a cookie. Andrew and Jacob colored them when we got home and then lined up the crayons.
We were pleased that our garden did as well as it did for the first year. Once we clean it off we can till in the grass clippings and level it better so that we will be ready to get the garden in before the middle of June.
This is Dad's 2 1/2' deep by 14' long trench to get the run off away from the house. This trench is filled with pea gravel and the river rock on top.

Pioneer Celebration in California
I finally took the camera out of the suitcase on my last day. I had a great time with this cute Bradley family.
Elaina thinks you are supposed to close your eyes when you get your picture taken. I tried to take other pictures, but she closed her eyes every time.
Only the youth wanted to do sack races after just eating breakfast.
The race is on. Jared actually was faster than Justus. Jared was also in so many of the races that he had a side ache.
This is the start of the wheelbarrow race. Justus did very well with this HUGE wheelbarrow, but coming back up the hill was a bit much and luckily they were kind and put him the wheelbarrow and gave him a ride back which he thought was terrific.

July 4th in Oregon
Dad on a bridge as we hiked to Drift Creek Falls.
We made it to Drift Creek Falls and ate our lunch here. Grandma and Shannon.
The Suspension bridge at Drift Creek Falls. It was great weather for a hike.
Shannon loved touching the sea anemones and watching them close up. You can see the anemone's along the rocks that are sort of round.
Grandpa, Grandma and Shannon on the Oregon coast in Lincoln, OR.
On the 4th of July we drove to the Oregon State University Aquarium. We saw all kinds of sea animals. We watched them feed the seals and touched stingrays. Shannon enjoyed this bird exhibit.
Grandpa blowing bubbles with Shannon in the backyard. Saturday Steve and Dad installed a new dishwasher for Karen. Then in the afternoon we relaxed, played in the backyard and walked over to the park to play a little.
Grandpa and happy Loralee.

Visit to Minnesota in June
Another view of Andrew signing up for the Army.
Andrew making biscuits
Jacob cutting out biscuits.
Jacob with the rolling pin.Dad and I had a great time with the Hobbs family in June. Dad spent most of the time at an appraisal class in Roseville, MN. Bonnie and Doug went to the temple on Sat. and then picked up Dad. After attending church we took Dad back to his motel room. Bonnie and I had fun with the boys going on hikes and having picnics. And yes I did play kickball, baseball, set up bowling pins and played CandyLand and Hi Ho Cherry-O with Andrew and Jacob which I thoroughly enjoyed. When Dad was finished with his class we went to Stillwater and then on Friday we all went to Fort Snelling which was really fun. We then enjoyed the fish exhibit at the Mall of America. We had a great time and have fun memories.

A Warm Day Finally

94 Days
I took the challenge to read the Book of Mormon in 97 days in honor of Pres. Hinckley. I have finished it in 94 days so I really did it. I read every word, no listening. I have never read the Book of Mormon that fast and I really enjoyed it and felt the spirit of it. Now I am back to trying to read the Old Testament.

We Have Sold The Boat
About a month ago Dad noticed that there was gas and oil leaking underneath the boat. Lance, Dad and I moved the boat to the street because Dad was worried about the fire hazard. He figured there must be a leak somewhere. After calling the Bayliner stores in St. George and SLC, Scott Barney in Richfield and two sport stores in Cedar City, Dad knew that it was going to take over $2,000 to repair the cracked gas line. Dad was told that the gas line was most probably plastic and something had frozen in it and cracked the gas line. When it thawed, the gas and oil leaked out. Dad was so sad because he has taken such good care of the boat. In the past he had always filled the gas tank completely full for winter, but we hadn't used it for two years and he didn't want to mix old gas and new gas and when would we use up that much gas so he didn't and I guess that is how moisture froze in the gas line. The High Priest Group Leader (Dannie Condie) in our ward is a retired mechanic, was Lloyd's counselor in the bishopric and so Dad ask him if he knew anyone that might be interested in a boat that needed to be repaired. He said he was and came and looked at it while we were at work. Last night he called Dad and ask a few more questions and wanted the toys too. So today when I got home from work there was $200 sitting on the desk. Dad had met Dannie at 1:00 pm and sold him a boat trailer, a working engine, some life jackets and water toys, and a big project to hopefully use the toys. The floor has to be cut out to get to the gas tank. Dad is happy to have someone take it that can fix it and have some more fun with it. We have so many good memories with that boat that I think this was the only way to get Dad to part with it.

Visit to SUNNY California
We are crazy. We went to California to get out of the cold and snow and we ended up playing in the snow. We enjoyed the day together, however.
The "General Sherman" in Sequioa National Park.
Elaina trys to keep up with her older brothers.
Jared said, "I'm a big boy and I want my training wheels off." So Grandpa helped him.
Grandpa helping Jared get his balance.
Grandpa running alongside in case of a fall. Can you see Jared's tongue on his lip in determination?
Jared can ride a two wheel bike all by himself. So glad we were there to see his determination. Lovely home and neighborhood the Bradleys live in. Visalia is a great place.

Baby Steps - Getting the House Finished
A successful trip to Tai Pan Trading in St. George. Dad says we are starting to add some personality.
We love having a Family Room again. There was plenty of room for everyone on New Years Day.
Nice tile around the fireplace. We still need the mantle and a nice picture to finish it off.
We finally installed Karen and Steve's Christmas Present from 2006. Looks great!!

Jerusalem Trip 2007
In Garden of Gethsamene looking at sunset.
Capernaum. Jesus lived here with Peter and taught in this synagoge. The black rock is from the time of Christ. The white rock is 400 A.D. The synagoge was replicated from Christ's time and moved slightly to face South directly to Jerusalem.
